Eurasian Union to connect EU and PEC – Russian MP

Leonid Slutsky, head of the Russian parliamentary committee for the CIS, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, said that Eurasian Integration was based on 17 intergovernmental agreements, which will make a total of 60 in the future. The Eurasian Parliamentary Assembly will unite parliaments of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Andrey Smirnov, Vice President of the Foundation for Development of Eurasian Cooperation, said in a video conference that he believes Armenia has received all the answers and information it needed on joining the Customs Union. Chairman of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Leonid Slutsky commented on the issues of cooperation between Russia and the countries of the former Soviet Union, and its activities in the Customs Union, as well as on the construction of the Eurasian Economic Union, and the plans of the State Duma Committee for CIS, the Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots. Leonid Slutsky said that the committee regularly talks about the creation of the Eurasian Union, which in turn resulted in the creation of a forum.

Georgia won't join Eurasian Union, PM says

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili says his country won't take part in the Eurasian Union project. Ivanishvili says the project has no prospects. "I pay special attention to the Eurasian Union project. We have no position on the matter as we see no prospects whatsoever," he says. 

Georgian PM does not see prospects of joining Eurasian Union

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said that he saw no prospects in joining the Eurasian Union, News Georgia Online reports.Presidents Dmitry Medvedev (Russia), Alexander Lukashenko (Belarus) and Nursultan Nazarbayev (Kazakhstan) signed the declaration on Eurasian economic integration in Moscow in 2011. The document is, in fact, a road map for the integration processes finalizing in formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.Members of the Eurasian Union will have a common political, economic, military and customs system, although remaining independent states.
